Gabi came into this portrait/fashion photo session with zero prior experience. A blank canvas, she was open to ideas and direction by DSTNCT Art Media. She arrived that morning nervous and a little unsure of what to expect, but she trusted Dennis and Tessa to guide her. After a few warm up shots to calm those first photoshoot jitters, Gabi felt more comfortable and by the end of the session the team created images unlike anything she’s seen.  

DSTNCT Art Media’s goal is to provide every person with an individualized photoshoot experience. Gabi is an artist with an alternative fashion style and Dennis and Tessa wanted to highlight her individuality. Every detail in a photoshoot contributes to the overarching theme, we wanted something dark, something that would make you stop and think. Tessa styled Gabi in edgy looks and coached her how to convey emotion in the photos, finishing the session in a 1920s Parisian inspired look that transports you in time. Dennis uses edgy lighting setups and gadgets like a smoke machine to add a depth of complexity to the photos. Creativity knows no bounds during this shoot and we even invented a game of “fetish tennis” when we paired a tennis racquet with a latex style outfit. We aren't afraid to take risks and the result is much more than pretty pictures, but a story, a meaningful work of art.
