Love can come into our lives at the most unexpected times. The kind of love that sneaks up almost imperceptibly and blossoms from casual friendship into a beautiful romance. That’s the type of love story shared by Emily and Kevin. Neither Emily nor Kevin had any experience doing a couples photography session  and were initially hesitant to come shoot as they felt they didn’t know “how to pose.” 

The idea for this couples portrait shoot was to capture a feeling; it was more about the interaction between two people in love and trying to freeze that in a moment in time. Tessa shot this session in two locations. The first location was at a local college bleachers. Inspired by Emily and Kevin’s Grease style outfits, we wanted to pick a theme that was light-hearted and fun. Then we headed to Red Reef Park, a local beach in Boca Raton. It was getting close to golden hour, the lighting was perfect and we could feel a breeze picking up, the perfect recipe for a romantic couples photo session. Tessa styled Emily in satins and sheer fabrics that would flow freely in the wind and highlight her ethereal beauty. She then gave Emily and Kevin silly little games or things to say to each other, anything to take their mind off the camera and focus on each other. The results are images that capture a true sense of what love is; a smile so innocent and pure, a gaze that sees deep into another’s soul,  and an embrace that connects two souls together forever in a moment.
